We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Developer to join our team to help expand and enhance our electro/optical simulation infrastructure. As a developer, you will play a key role in designing, coding, testing, and optimizing software features that support accurate and scalable simulations for high speed electrical and optical communication modules.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Development: Design, implement, and maintain core components of our software simulation infrastructure, including simulation algorithms, user interfaces, and backend systems.
  • Develop digital signal processing algorithms and other algorithms for simulation and measurement.
  • Testing and Debugging:
  • Write unit tests and perform debugging to ensure high-quality and reliable software.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the members of the system architecture team to improve the accuracy, and speed of the simulation environment, including the addition of identified new features.
  • Documentation: Create clear and comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and user guides.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • BSEE preferred. MS and/or Ph.D a plus.
  • digital signal processing, applied mathematics, circuit simulation
  • algorithm development for simulation and measurement
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python. C and C++ a plus.
  • Experience with simulation tools, algorithms, and frameworks.

  • Development Tools: General familiarity with IDEs and debugging tools, and build systems.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Unit Testing: The ideal candidate is familiar with unit testing and unit test development.

Pay Range: The annual salary range for this position is $117,800 - $188,200 USD
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
