Job description

About the Role


We are seeking an experiencedDatabase Administrator to support a complex, enterprise-level database environment. This role will be responsible for the planning, administration, performance, maintenance, and ongoing support of critical database platforms, including DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS.


The ideal candidate will bring15+ years of combined database administration experience and strong expertise working within mainframe and enterprise database environments. This individual will play an important role in ensuring database availability, performance, security, reliability, and integration across the organization.

The position requires a highly technical professional who can independently manage database administration activities while also collaborating with application, infrastructure, and technical teams. Experience supporting an integrated database infrastructure, financial management applications, or an integrated application environment is a plus.


Required Experience

The candidate must have skills and 15 years of combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms:

  1. DB2 for z/OS
  2. SQL Server 2008R2, 2012
  3. Oracle 10g and above
  4. Experience with an integrated database infrastructure is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of financial management applications is a plus.
  6. Knowledge of an integrated application environment is a plus.


Primary Job Duties / Tasks

This resource will primarily be tasked with performing Database (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, GIS) planning and operational activities including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Daily operational and database administration activities
  2. Plan, design, implement, support for database structures
  3. Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
  4. Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
  5. Perform SQL Code reviews
  6. Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff
  7. This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.


Work Hours

Flexibility to work hours between 7:00 AM & 7:00 PM and/or Saturdays, either on a rotation or as part of a regular and on-call work schedule.
