Facility:Mathile Center for Mental Health and WellnessDepartment:Mental Crisis ServicesSchedule:Part timeHours:12Job Details:The Mental Health Therapist provides comprehensive psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention on the mental health unit. This role is responsible for delivering brief therapeutic interventions in individual and family formats, including safety planning. This role is responsible for mandated reporting as needed. The mental health therapists collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute personalized treatment plans that effectively address behavioral health diagnoses and complex social needs. This role requires participation in group and milieu activities with patients as directed by unit need. The therapist is also responsible for collaborating with community agencies to ensure comprehensive care. The therapist is expected to work independently, maintain a high level of organization, and identify opportunities for collaborative work with other units and departments within the hospital. The therapist demonstrates and models Dayton Children's values through effective interaction with patients, families, and team members while providing excellent care.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work
License/Certification
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFTs) - Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board, LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor - Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board, LSW Ohio - Ohio Licensed Social Worker - Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health or healthcare setting preferred
Experience working with patients with mental health or substance use disorders is strongly desired

Department Specific Job Details:

  • part time, 12 hours

  • day shift, 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM

  • 1 (12) hour shift

  • every Sunday, eligible for shift differential

  • serving the Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center
