Job Summary:

The Warehouse Team Lead Associate serves as warehouse labor support for the warehouse. Responsible for coordinating warehouse labor activity to assure high levels of warehouse labor production and quality of work. Oversees and provides training to warehouse associates following Metropolitan’s set standards and quality guidelines for loading, unloading, packaging and scan discipline. Assigns tasks and aids Warehouse Manager with all shipping and receiving responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating warehouse labor activities to assure high levels of production
  • Provides training to all new warehouse associates to Metropolitan’s standards and quality guidelines
  • Accurately checks and assures all labeling is correct
  • Responsible for following all paperwork processes through completion
  • Maintains accurate warehouse inventory checking and bringing any older orders or items to the attention of the Warehouse or Hub Manager
  • Assures all warehouse associates are following scan discipline and guidelines (no movement of any items within the warehouse without a scan)
  • Provides quality control and training to all warehouse associates for repackaging of items following Metropolitan’s set standards to assure products are packaged in a manner that will assure no damage to the item will occur while in Metropolitan’s possession
  • Ability to follow directions and complete all tasks assigned by the Warehouse or Hub Manager
  • Safely operates all equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.
  • Follows start of day and end of day tasks
  • Assists Warehouse manager with day-to-day warehouse operations
  • Assumes Warehouse Manager’s responsibilities when the warehouse manager is absent
  • Assists Warehouse and Hub Manager with day-to-day tasks as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year minimum of previous warehouse supervisory/lead experience desired
  • Experience working with furniture preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with heavy furniture
  • Organized and detailed record keepingPrevious Forklift Certification/Experience is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred for this role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Pushing and Pulling: Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise
  • Bending, Stooping, and Reaching: Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently
  • Physical Stamina: Demonstrate physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items with precision
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgent operational needs
