WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
We are looking for a Senior Materials Developer who will drive adherence to the accessories product creation calendar to ensure seasonal materials are developed, tested and commercialized on time. You will partner with Design, Technical Development, Product Management, Innovation, Sourcing & Costing to provide transparency when issues or concerns arise, and you'll collaborate on a resolution. You'll serve as the primary contact for vendors as it relates to category specific issues (price, technical specs, performance). You will collaborate with product creation team, innovation and sourcing to provide training and education as well as standard methodologies to enable informed decision making.

We are seeking a Senior Accessories Materials Developer who brings equal parts creativity and technical expertise to help drive product excellence through materials within Nike Accessories. They are curious by nature, tuned into trends and consumer insights, and energized by solving complex challenges. The ideal candidate moves with confidence through ambiguity, builds strong cross-functional relationships, and communicates clearly across global partners. They combine strategic thinking with hands-on development expertise, ensuring every material not only meets performance standards but pushes the boundaries of what's possible. They understand the full product creation journey-from concept to commercialization-and bring a proactive mindset to every phase, constantly seeking new ways to elevate product and process.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials, Chemistry, Apparel Design, Product Development or Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Industrial Design or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • Minimum of 3 years directly applicable work experience
  • High profile communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact with leadership and cross functional product creation team members
  • Knowledge of accessory material types including fibers, yarns, textiles, leathers, synthetic leathers, prints, components or trims, manufacturing technologies and equipment, tooling, and materials is highly preferred
  • Understanding of various product Materials manufacturing processes required

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
You will drive the creation and development of innovative textile, trim and print solutions. You'll partner closely with design and product teams to deliver material palettes that balance performance, quality, and style-bringing new concepts to life from idea through adoption.
  • You will utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence.
  • You will collaborate with Design and Product Management to define and deliver material palettes aligned to product vision.
  • You will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets.
  • You will ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured.
  • You will monitor industry and consumer trends to inform material innovation and seasonal direction
  • You will elevate digital and physical tools and palettes across multiple material types to enable effective material selection for end-use and category ease
