Job description

Summary Minimum Starting Salary is $23.1866 hourly, depending on qualifications The City of Waco Seeks A reliable candidate capable of operating specialized heavy equipment and collection vehicles to support commercial solid waste collection operations for the Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division. Minimum Qualifications Required: Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License required within 90 Days of employment. Applicant must hold a written permit at the time of application

6 months of heavy equipment operations and/or commercial vehicle experience Preferred: H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent Position Overview Under basic supervision, operates sanitation trucks to collect and transport materials to the City landfill, transfer station, and recycling center. Work is performed for the Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division (SWD)

Essential Functions Positions assigned to Collections: Collects solid waste, refuse, bulky items, and recyclable materials and transports materials to the City landfill, transfer station, and recycling center; operates sanitation trucks in accordance with all safety regulations; performs manual labor tasks as needed; maintains daily work logs and records; provides customer service as needed; performs duties within scope of authority and training and in compliance with City policies; duties may vary according to job assignment. May be required to respond after hours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
