Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a Sleep Medicine Physician to provide remote services to eligible beneficiaries of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System located at 11301 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90073. Shift scheduling is generally between the hours 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Full-time and Locum Tenens positions with generous compensation packages are available.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage patients with sleep disorders and conditions contributing to sleep disturbances.
  • Provide care to:
    • New patients
    • Established patients
    • Consultation patients
    • Telehealth and telephone care patients. 
  • Perform comprehensive outpatient Sleep Medicine services. 
  • Manage related medical conditions contributing to sleep disorders. 
  • Perform direct patient care through synchronous telehealth.
  • Determine appropriate sleep testing modalities. 
  • Order clinically indicated sleep studies.
  • Review raw sleep study data and patient records.
  • Interpret sleep studies within 7 calendar days. 
  • Communicate sleep study results to patients and providers within 14 days. 
  • Complete electronic consultations and medical record reviews.
  • Conduct new patient visits (approximately 60 minutes).
  • Conduct follow-up visits (approximately 30 minutes). 
  • Complete mandatory suicide screening for new patients. 
  • Complete sleepiness and insomnia assessments when clinically indicated. 
  • Monitor testing completion and follow-up requirements. 
  • Manage remote physiologic and therapeutic monitoring programs.
  • Communicate with veterans through secure messaging. 
  • Coordinate care with referring providers and interdisciplinary teams. 
  • Communicate test results and treatment plans
  • Complete all EHR documentation.
  • Enter notes within facility timelines, typically within 24 hours of encounters. 
  • Complete billing documentation for all encounters. 
  • Complete chart reviews and audits related to patient safety initiatives involving Somnoware.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and meetings. 
  • Attend team huddles and staff meetings. 
  • Complete QA/QI documentation. 
  • Follow all VA patient safety requirements and reporting procedures. 
  • Participate in monthly quality meetings with supervisory staff
  • Be available during assigned clinic hours via:
    • Teams
    • Phone
    • Email.
  • Track completion of tests and follow-up activities. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Qualifications
  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine through the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
  • No history of restricted, suspended, revoked, denied, or voluntarily surrendered licensure.
  • NPI report printout
  • Active DEA license
  • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
