What you bring to the table:

As a Process Operator, you'll ensure production of a quality yeast product by following established procedures and performing various sanitation duties. This requires a wide range of knowledge and skills, many of which can be learned on the job. This position reports directly to the Process Supervisor. May also receive direction from the CY/NUT Supervisor or other department management personnel as required. This role follows a rotating day shift schedule from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

What youโ€™ll do as a Nutritional Operator:

  • Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre's safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols andย participatingย in required safety programsย 
  • Follow established fermentation procedures, make adjustmentsย toย the processes or processing equipment, manually or through a central processing computer.ย 
  • Notify Supervisor of equipment failures and when major fermentation problems or variations in the process are detected.ย 
  • Followย the productionย schedule.ย 
  • Follow established cleaning (CIP) and syrup/raw materials procedures.ย 
  • Responsible for reading and understanding material safety data for chemicals used inย the fermentationย process.ย 
  • Follow all procedures/precautions when adding chemicals toย the fermentationย process and working around chemicals.ย 
  • Run the separation of the yeast afterย fermentation.ย 
  • Learn toย comply withย all established safety, GMP, and food safety rules of the plant as well as general company policies.ย 
  • Verify accuracy of all information.ย 
  • Record andย maintainย accurateย written and electronic information for fermentation, separation,ย CIPs, or any other documents required by company to regulate parameters, procedures and equipment through basic laboratory analysis, simpleย calculationsย and computer controls.ย 
  • Communicate and interact with other employees, customers, and management personnel in a respectful and effective manner.ย 
  • Follow syrup/molasses processes from start to end to minimize loss.ย 
  • Train and work in other departments in the facility as needed. This may include truck-loading, packaging, cleaning for customer audits, and filling in for various absences throughout the facility. Work is assigned depending upon operational needs.ย 
  • General Cleaningย
