Full Time/Non-Exempt

General Summary: Under direct supervision, responsible for inventory processing, movement, and control; performs accurate product identification, movement, and preparation for shipping; and related work as required. Assist in monitoring the security of the Distribution Center and product within the warehouse. This is a safety sensitive position.
Duties:

  • Operation of manual material handling equipment and, when certified, operate powered material handling equipment
  • Uses powered material handling equipment to receive, stock, pick and load bulk equipment such as furnaces, etc.
  • Prepare product for stocking and subsequent shipment including, receipt verification, stocking, picking, packaging, labeling, and following stacking procedures.
  • Loading and unloading of products from trailers.
  • Ensure product is stacked safely and securely.
  • Verification of vendor accuracy on small parts and equipment orders, and report of all discrepancies via the computer system.
  • Initiate self-evaluation of safety procedures and follow safety procedures at all times.
  • Use information system for product control and inventory accuracy to include receiving, storage, and shipping of products.
  • Identify and process all cross-dock eligible products.
  • Exercise precautions necessary to protect the product from damage in storage or during movement and ensure accurate inventory counts.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Answer telephone and give out routine information and take messages.
  • Cross-training regarding activities specific to other departments as directed by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Training and Experience: Selected individuals will be required to be certified within a set time to operate powered material handling equipment, ability to lift 75 pounds repetitively for short periods. Must be 18 years of age to operate a forklift.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic knowledge of warehouse procedures. Knowledge of spelling, grammar, and basic arithmetic. Ability to begin work at the start of the designated shift. Ability to work flexible hour schedule including extended hours as required.
Working Conditions: Warehouse work requires standing, walking on a concrete floor over 90% of the workday. Overall temperatures will reflect local weather conditions. Warehouse conditions are dusty. If operating a tow motor getting on and off the equipment will be necessary throughout the workday.
