Adventist HealthCare's Information Technology team seeks to hire an experienced Systems Engineer III who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Systems Engineer III you will:
• Perform service operational tasks including but not limited to fulfilling support requests, resolving incidents, providing access, evaluating events, and managing problems
• Perform necessary routine recurring tasks associated with the daily maintenance and support of the infrastructure platform and application portfolio
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of infrastructure, clinical and business application lifecycle, technical architecture, data, configuration and, operational support requirements
• Provide infrastructure platform and application portfolio support in the timely resolution of technology incidents while adhering to SLA prioritization and success measures - including 24x7 on call support
• Investigate infrastructure platform and application portfolio interoperability issues and develop risk mitigation plans for existing and new applications
• Work with end users and other support staff to configure, troubleshoot and maintain all layers of infrastructure platform and applications
• Maintain detailed charts, diagrams and flow charts outlining systems, hardware, interfaces and configurations
• Document operational and support procedures to ensure the overall integrity of infrastructure platform and applications.
• Follow PMBOK best practices in the implementation and transition of infrastructure platform and application implementations
• Participate in the creation of detailed work breakdown structures for the implementation of infrastructure platform and application upgrades and implementations Facilitate conversations across AHC employees and vendors and other support teams while implementing or upgrading technology platforms
• Follow change and release management processes
• Follow PMBOK and ITIL principles in the planning and design of infrastructure platform and application implementations
• Assist with requirements data gathering and analysis as needed
• Assist with the development of technical reference architectures that illustrate the entire topology of a system or service including communication requirements and system dependencies
• Review infrastructure platform and application changes for the environment and provide input on the technical impact of the changes
• Participate in efforts to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
• Schedule and participate in reviewing vendor solutions to address workflow requirements of the business and clinical departments
• Provide expertise to identify and translate business workflow into infrastructure platform and application configuration requirements.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information technology is preferred
• 5+ years in depth experience with implementing and supporting applications in a MS Windows Server/Desktop environment
• 5+ years in depth experience with supporting general COTS based applications
• 3+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry is preferred
• 3+ years of experience working with clinical applications is preferred
• Network + or similar certification required
• A+ or similar certification required
• ITILv3 Foundations is preferred
• At least three primary technology certifications covering one or more technologies including but not limited to server, storage and infrastructure application certifications preferred (ie: Microsoft/AIX/Linux Server products, SQL Server, Active Directory, Azure, IBM/EMC Storage, VMware, Citrix XenApp and XenDeskop)
