About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated EEG Tech to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our [clinical/support/administrative] team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As the EEG Tech, you will perform routine (EEG) studies on acute inpatients and outpatients. This includes administering brain death EEGs.
What You'll Do
  • Prepares testing area and equipment (to ensure proper operation of equipment).
  • Checks orders to verify patient name, appropriate procedures and sedation ordered; documents procedure completion and date on the front of EEG tracing.
  • Prior to performing study, gathers specific patient information which contra-indicate the use of phonic stimulation or hyperventilation.
  • Explains testing procedure to patient and/or family.
  • Performs EEG test using the EEG computer and peripherals according to department procedures on children, adults & on patients with suspected electrocerebral silence ensuring minimal unexplained artifacts and producing readable tracing.
  • Observes patient during testing for signs of distress and need for immediate medical evaluation.
  • Transfers tracings to network for interpreting neurologist and archives records according to department procedures.
  • Maintains inventory of testing supplies by preparing requisitions for authorization.
  • Maintains a professional, safe and therapeutic environment, including maintenance of clean, uncluttered testing and public areas (e.g. following daily and weekly routine).
  • Cleans/sanitizes electrodes as required by department policy and procedures.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence
  • Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
  • Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community

What You Bring
  • High school graduate or equivalent; must be trained and experienced as an EEG technician or have a degree or certificate in electroneurodiagnostic technology. In lieu of EEG experience or education, will consider applicants with at least six months of direct patient care experience.
