About the Job
MedStar Health is looking for a Part-Time Day Shift Sleep Technologist to join our team at MedStar Shah Medical Group.
The Sleep Technologist coordinates home sleep testing and provisioning of durable medical equipment and other therapeutics for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Performs pulmonary function tests, exercise tests, and pulmonary rehabilitation exercises. The sleep technologist collaborates with physicians, patients and families in the delivery of services and management of sleep and respiratory disorders and acts as the liaison and point of contact to resolve patient issues, problems and treatments.

Primary Duties:
  • Interacting with individuals entering the facility. Temperature Checks.
  • General cleaning of surfaces and work area. Assists with environmental services support such as linen management, trash removal, and cleaning patient rooms as needed.
  • Assists with transport of specimens, equipment and supplies as appropriate
  • Reports actual and potential problems concerning patients, families, associates and their departments to the Registered Nurse
  • Performs the entrance screener role: greet associates, patients, and visitors at the point of entry while carrying out safety screening criteria before allowing entry into the facility.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associate or bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • Formal education in sleep technology or respiratory therapy (Required)
  • 1-2 years at the technician level or equivalent (Required)
  • 1-2 years Durable medical equipment experience and previous use of electronic medical records (Preferred)

This position has a hiring range of
USD $25.86 - USD $46.12 /Hr.
