The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Summary Overview:

To accurately and promptly collect all pertinent information at the initial point of registration and scheduling to ensure proper billing occurs, which will enhance timely cash flow and reduce the days in accounts receivable. Performs all duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years previous Patient Access or Medical office experience
  • Customer Service Experience

Preferred:

  • Epic Experience 
  • Revenue Cycle experience 
  • Knowledge of Non-Federal and Federal billing regulations
  • Medical terminology 

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Working Shift: Monday–Friday  
  • Day Shift: Start times may vary from 7:00AM, 8:00AM, or 9:00AM
  • Status: Full-Time, 37.5 Hours Per Work

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to greet all patients in a timely and friendly manner
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for the patient during the registration process,
  • Informs patient of financial responsibility and collects appropriate dollar amount for services to be rendered
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the entire preadmission, registration, and financial clearance processes
  • Complies with organizational policies on Advance Directives and Patient Rights
  • Demonstrates initiative and motivation in role; proactively identifies and resolves problems in an appropriate manner and escalates issues to leadership when necessary
  • Works closely and professionally with ancillary departments to foster a team environment
  • Participates in training through the development of training tools, presentations at department in-services or staff meetings, or through the training of registration staff outside of the patient access department
  • Insurance verification of all patient insurances, review and correct all coordination of benefits to ensure financial clearance activity has been completed and is accurate,
  • Completes Medicare Questionnaire on all patients that are eligible
  • Demonstrates a high level of efficiency, accuracy and productivity
  • Provides patients with all regulatory documents and obtains the required signatures needed, and witnesses for the services rendered,
  • Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude
