Job description

  • Performs experiments in histology and immunostaining, imaging (Confocal and MP)
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, logs, and record books; keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.  
  • Maintain genetically modified mouse colonies, which includes rodent work, and related experimentation (dissections, injections of biological compounds, minor and major surgeries).
  • Perform RNA extraction/ real-time PCR, protein extraction/ Western blot and cell culture.
  • Collection, preparation, and cataloging of tissue samples.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic molecular and cell biology techniques.
  • Ability to collect experimental data and handle animals.
  • Self-motivated and readily learns and adapts to new techniques.
  • Works effectively and efficiently both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, timely report experimental progress or problems.
  • Ability to follow the instruction and keeping detailed experimental records.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
