Job description

Radiology Technologist

Join the Utah Valley InstaCare team as a Radiology Technologist in a fast-paced urgent care environment. You'll work closely with providers and care teams to help patients receive timely diagnosis and treatment.

Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours per week

Primarily Sunday day shifts (approximately 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM)

Evening coverage (approximately 8:00 PM - midnight)

Rotating weekends and holidays as needed

Unit/Location: Utah Valley InstaCare

Additional details:

Sign-on bonus up to $3,000 for eligible candidates

Standard evening and weekend shift differentials

Essential Functions

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic exams in accordance with department protocols and ARRT standards.
  • Ensure patient safety through proper identification, positioning, radiation protection, and infection prevention practices.
  • Review images for quality and accuracy and document procedures appropriately.
  • Provide excellent patient care while collaborating with providers and members of the care team.
  • Utilize radiology equipment and related information systems to support efficient workflow and quality outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification
  • Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (if applicable)
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform the function of an MA in a clinic or InstaCare setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of radiology experience preferred, particularly in an urgent care, emergency department, or high-volume outpatient setting.
  • IV Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
