Hours: Tuesday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:00am

Performs routine diagnostic, technical and/or special radiographic procedures at a general skill level.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Licenses:

  • Registered Technologist-Radiography - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Accredited program in radiologic technology Upon Hire Required

Essential Functions:

  • Performs radiographic examinations, obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
  • Performs diagnostic procedures in one of the following specialty areas at a beginner level: operating room procedures (includes overhead, fluoroscopic and C-arm procedures), complex portables, or trauma procedures.
  • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
  • Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures
  • Properly processes images using digital technology
  • Evaluates recorded images for technical quality; consistently maintains a repeat rate under 6%.
  • Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed.

Common Expectations:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patients, visitors and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; is a positive change agent, and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Will take call to meet the needs of the department. On call requirements are defined separately by each entity
