The Opportunity

Join Currency and Commodity Operations in a role that helps keep Precious Metals and domestic Money Market activity running smoothly and safely across a highly controlled environment. You’ll support pre and post-settlement services including confirmations and fails management for Money Markets and globally traded Precious Metals. This role sits alongside a business that provides 24-hour global coverage across precious metals products and operates one of the largest commercial metals vaulting facilities in the US. You’ll oversee daily processing, support change and technology delivery and help maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships. Success means accurate and timely processing, clear escalation of risks and issues and continuous improvements to controls and efficiency.

What you'll be doing
  • Oversee daily processing across Precious Metals and Money Market Operations including confirmations, settlements and fails management
  • Assist with supervision of the Precious Metals and Money Markets Operations team including providing coverage in the manager’s absence
  • Deliver tactical and strategic projects with a focus on timely implementation and risk mitigation
  • Resolve processing issues quickly while adhering to regulatory requirements and HSBC internal controls
  • Authorize settlements, confirmations and invoices as required to support accurate trade processing
  • Represent the team on conference calls and in meetings, communicating key risks and issues clearly
  • Partner with stakeholders across MSS including Product Control, Legal, Compliance and IT to support day-to-day delivery
  • Support IT projects and new business objectives to ensure change is implemented on schedule with minimal disruption
What we're looking for
  • Bring experience supporting pre and post-settlement processes in markets operations, trade support or a closely related environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Money Market products including Loans and Deposits and or Precious Metals trade support workflows
  • Apply strong operational risk awareness including adherence to regulatory standards and internal controls and escalation of control weaknesses or breaches
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external clients by phone and email
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively, maintaining service quality in a high-volume environment
  • Evaluate issues and implement practical fixes that reduce risk and improve efficiency
  • Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel confidently to support reporting, analysis and change delivery
  • Partner effectively with teams such as Product Control, Legal, Compliance and IT to resolve issues and deliver change
