Job description

Job Title: Test TechnicianJob Description

The Test Technician performs testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and PCB assemblies in a fast-paced production environment. This role focuses on detailed diagnostics, precision soldering, and the use of electronic test equipment to ensure products meet quality and reliability standards. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and PCB assemblies to ensure proper functionality and quality.
  • Conduct detailed diagnostics to identify faults, analyze test results, and determine root causes of failures.
  • Utilize electronic testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, ohm meters, and microscopes, to evaluate and verify component and board performance.
  • Execute precision soldering and rework tasks, including component replacement, board-level repairs, and debugging activities.
  • Adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety standards and proper handling procedures to protect sensitive electronic components.
  • Evaluate equipment and components to determine whether repair is feasible or if items should be scrapped, based on established criteria.
  • Manage and prioritize repair backlog to ensure timely completion of inventory repairs and support production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate repair records, test results, and documentation of all work performed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve repair processes, enhance product reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the production team by working flexibly in different areas as needed to meet team and organizational objectives.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with electronics testing and repair, including work on PCB assemblies.
  • Proficiency using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, ohm meters, and microscopes.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate soldering and rework on electronic components and circuit boards.
  • Strong electronic troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Familiarity with ESD practices and safe handling of sensitive electronic components.
  • Experience with PCB testing and diagnostics.
  • Ability to debug and perform rework on electronic assemblies.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting test results and repair activities.
  • Capability to manage and prioritize multiple repair tasks in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with a variety of electronic repair tools and test equipment in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Comfort working with microscopes and fine-pitch components for precision inspection and soldering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to identifying and resolving electronic faults.

Pay and Benefits
