Job Title: Material Handler

Type of Role: Contract to hire

Location: Kenosha, WI US 53144

Shift Times & Pay:
AM Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM | $19.50
PM Shift: 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM | $20.00

Description of the Position:

- Prepares product for shipment both manually and via electric powered industrial equipment with lifting devices, such as motorized pallet jack and/or reach truck.

- Packagers prepare and packages customer products in a safe and efficient manner while following the instructions of Line Lead and Quality Lead.

- Will follow corporate and sitespecific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.

- In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills- Spanish speakers are welcomed to apply as long as they understand English
  • Must be able to work in a varied, fast-paced WAREHOUSE environment 1+ Yrs
  • Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to sit/walk/stand for long periods of time.
  • Wear steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, safety vest and Hard Hat
  • ***** Must not be afraid of heights., will be trained on Cherry Pickers

Responsibilities:

  • Essential duties and responsibilities include performing the duties described below in

accordance with applicable company, safety, customer, and regulatory requirements.

  • Prior to using equipment, performs operations and safety check using checklist. Signs off on checklist certifying the equipment is safe to operate or immediately notifies supervisor of any variances from acceptable standards. Safely operates all equipment in assigned area.
  • Utilizes pick sheet, customer order, work order, shipping order or facility acquisition

device to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed from temperature

controlled or non-controlled rooms.

  • Removes product to be shipped from designated pick locations by hand and/or powered

industrial equipment.

  • Selects product, using internal system, according to predetermined sequence such as product code, expiration date (FIFO where required) and/or other requirements.
  • Places order on pallets or transports order to a packing, wrapping or shipping station by

hand and/or powered industrial equipment marks product picked with proper identifying information and compiles tally sheets or ticket from customer specifications.

  • Counts product and records amounts of materials or items to be shipped for shipper

verification and conformance to company standards in preparation for shipment. Goal is

zero over/short.

  • Replenishes pick locations from stock by hand or via powered industrial equipment.
  • Changes powered industrial truck batteries.
  • Practices "clean as you go housekeeping" to maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned
