Position Description:

The Bench Operator produces parts by means of mechanical metal removal (deburr or polishing). Night shift is Monday-Thursday 4:00 pm – 2:30 am. Must be available to train on day shift, M-TH 5:30 am – 4:00 pm. The night shift pays a 20% shift premium.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deburr parts using mechanical means (hand tools and pneumatic grinders)
  • Cleaning and washing parts to remove manufacturing oils, dirt and debris
  • Operate part marking equipment
  • Ensure continuous production of parts that meet customer expectations
  • Inspect completed parts using micrometers, indicators, calipers, comparators, etc.
  • Maintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System
  • Monitor and document operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisor and other staff
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary CNC education preferred
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity
  • Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
