Job description

Position Overview The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Systems Engineer II in the Department of Information Technology. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year. Under general supervision, effectively and efficiently provisions, installs, configures, operates, and maintains compute and storage environments, software and related infrastructure; and performs related duties as assigned.

A successful candidate will possess experience with the following: Server automation and scripting PowerShell, .Net, or other DevOps experience Azure, Microsoft 365, Linux experience Systems engineering including the maintenance of computer and storage systems Managing the configuration of servers SALARY AND BENEFITS: Competitive Salary Range for Systems Engineer II $80,075.32 - $122,097.05 annually. Salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in information technology, computer science, or a related field Five (5) years of experience in systems engineering which involved the maintenance of compute and storage systems. Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check. Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years.
