Description

Role Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production at a Millwork Plant. Coaches, motivates and supports the production crew, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with the staff.

Scope of the Position:

This position is responsible for the production team at the Huntsville, AL Millwork Plant. Direct reports include approximately 15-25 production employees.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updates
  • Comply with all OSHA safety requirements
  • Communicate effectively with the management staff and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are met
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
  • Organize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production schedule
  • Oversee all staff scheduling, time off request
  • Monitor quality and accuracy of all orders
  • Ensure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipment
  • Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required
  • Provide a positive, motivating example for employees
  • Conduct training or authorize training of production employees
  • Conduct formal performance reviews per the company's policy. Initiate disciplinary action according to company policy.
  • Take all necessary action to manage production cost and improve profit
  • Inform Manager of equipment and production concerns
  • Monitor ongoing/production issues and provide clear communications and resolutions
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow Wilson Lumber's core values
  • Perform the duties of the Millwork Manager in the Millwork Manager's absence
