Adelphia Gateway LLC, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Corrosion Technician to provide high-level technical support on the transmission system relating to corrosion control and pipeline integrity. The Corrosion Technician will monitor cathodic protection, ensure compliance, conduct internal and external specialized corrosion tests, and maintain accurate reports and documentation.
Major Responsibilities:
• Monitor the condition of the pipeline through pipe-to-soil potentials, visual inspections, examination of coupons, data from in-line tools, etc.
• Monitor electrical isolation.
• Conduct various tests, measurements, and surveys to ensure efficient operation of cathodic protection facilities.
• Inspect 3rd party construction and work activities plus other duties as required in the integrity management plan.
• Provide oversite to contractors performing cathodic protection work and surveys on the pipeline.
• Perform gas leak surveys on gas transmission pipelines and related equipment.
• Pinpoint and classify leaks.
• Map and sketch leak locations and maintain logs for leak survey reports and footage surveyed.
• Ensure contractors provide current calibration of and maintenance certificates for leak detection equipment.
• Control hazardous situations and determines the need for action. Notify public safety agencies if required.
• Investigate and coordinate gas leak repair work with operations.
• Perform coating evaluations for atmospheric corrosion control and prepare mitigation plans.
• Take AC readings regarding high voltage transmission line interference with buried pipelines.
Position Requirements:
• Associate's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited school or other equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training is required.
• Mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of electrical current.
• Strong communication and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.)
• Working knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of coating projects.
• Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, corrosion related portions of NEC, and NACE standards.
• Knowledge and experience with safe handling practices of products (gas and liquids).
• Self-starter, capable of working well independently.
• Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• This position is subject to DOT drug testing requirements.
• Travel may be required- up to 10%.

Other Details:
Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $64,000- $86,500.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.

This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) regulations. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.
