The Role:
The CWU Music Department seeks highly qualified candidates with experience in a broad range of instrumental repertoire (strings and winds) for a position as Lecturer of Collaborative Piano. Responsibilities will include coaching and rehearsing with undergraduate instrumentalists, teaching collaborative piano practicum, performing student degree recitals, possible collaborations with faculty and guest artists, and other departmental performances. Faculty will also be expected to coordinate area collaborative assignments with supervision of Director of Keyboard and Department Chair. A total of 40 hours per week of collaborative and accompanying work in recitals, studio classes, and lessons will be expected.
Minimum Qualifications

• Master of Music (MM) in Collaborative Piano or a related field with a focus on collaborative piano.
• Comprehensive knowledge of various musical styles.
• Experience performing difficult Romantic and contemporary repertoire.
• Demonstrated fluency in keyboard skills.
• Ability to coach instrumentalists in a variety of different settings.
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications (please address in your cover letter:)

• A completed DMA in collaborative piano; consideration will be given to applicants with a Master's degree in piano performance if they have extensive collaborative experience.
• Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote student success.
• Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds.
• Potential to mentor and educate students who will serve pluralistic populations.

Pay & Work Schedule
Annual Salary : $45,000 - $60,000, based on a full-time nine-month appointment.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Appointment: Temporary, Non-Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June.
