Position Summary:
Vitality Works is looking for a dedicated and motivated individual that will be work on semi and fully automatic packaging lines to package products for storage or shipment.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Operate and observe machine to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to product specifications and SOP's. Machines would include but not limited to, Bottom coders, labelers, cappers, neck bander / full body sealers, and induction sealers.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to Packaging Lead or Packaging Manager.
  • Maintain consistent production quality, checking measurements when bottling.
  • Clean equipment or machinery properly for each product switch to avoid cross contamination.
  • Sort product for packaging or filling machine operation making sure that packaging components are available and at the proper location.
  • Assemble cartons/boxes to prepare for product packing.
  • Pack finished products in proper boxes.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Maintain appropriate hygiene.
  • Clean equipment or machinery properly for each product switch to avoid cross contamination.
  • Attach or mark identification onto products or containers per SOP.
  • Fill out appropriate paper work legibly and correctly per SOP.
  • At the end of the day be sure that machines and equipment are properly turned off.
  • Take directions from Line Lead, Packaging Tech 3, Packaging Tech 2, Packaging Manager, QA, or upper management.
  • Fulfill quotas and goals.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Maintain visitor-ready work environment keeping department area organized, safe and clean-as-you-work.
  • Understand and routinely adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures and Quality programming.

Skills & Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or sufficient experience pertaining to this position.
  • Prior warehouse experience a plus.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Know basic math and how to use a calculator.
  • Knowing how to work in a team.
  • Know how to meet quotas.
  • Understanding written and spoken information in English in work related documents, trainings
  • and day to day operations.
  • Quality control: Follow all SOP's as well as inspect product or processes to evaluate quality or
  • performance.
  • Control operations of equipment or systems.
  • The ability to follow all safety measures.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. This position requires strenuous physical activity throughout the day.
  • The ability to lift or move heavy boxes, trays, etc. on a regular basis.
  • The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to

grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
