Job description

Job Description:

The Program Instructor shuttles, observes, plans and implement activities to facilitate learning and development in daily living, community integration, social and life skills.

Full time Hours:

Mondays to Fridays 8am-4pm

(except RCEB observed holidays)

Qualifications:

· A minimum of a High School Diploma

· Must be willing to be trained to work directly with Developmentally Disabled Adults

· Must possess a clean and valid California Driver’s License (to operate the company vehicle as needed)

· Must have a Fingerprint clearance from the State Department of Justice

· Must have current CPR and First Aid Certificates

· Confident driver & must have a clean driving record

· Must obtain VDDP Certification from the California Highway Patrol

· DSP certification is not required but preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Abide by the Program's Policies and Procedures

· Ensure safety of our clients, closely supervise and monitor clients during outings and other special events.

· Enrich the client's quality of life by implementing our client-centered training curriculum

· Able to lift up to 45 lbs and comfortable walking for long periods, bending, stretching, and stooping frequently

· Able to operate a vehicle for up to 50% of the time

· Ensure that participants are free from any form abuse and neglect by reporting and advocating for our clients

· Observe HCBS rules while protecting and respecting each participants rights

· Train and guide the participants towards achieving individual goals (IPP/ISP)

· Participate in Regional Center approved behavior management training during first year of employment

· Safety transport clients from home to community outings and special events

· Complete initial orientation course, on-the-job training, and annual training requirements

· Must undergo and complete recurrent Crisis Prevention and Intervention training, and able to implement strategies as necessary

· Coordinates pick ups and drop offs/routes with managers and other program instructors
