Job description

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a Program Director for our PreK Extended Day program in Leander ISD.

The Program Director will manage the day-to-day operations of the Leander ISD PreK Extended Day programs. The will ensure safe operations and oversee staff through hiring, training, and supervising site directors and counselors. They will make the work schedule and ensure guidelines for ratios of staff to students are met, conduct performance evaluations, and observe and assist classrooms. They will provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith, and support the mission, purpose, and goals of the YMCA while performing job duties.

Basic Job Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that sites utilize PreK Extended Day centralized curriculum
  • Personally complete state-required continuing education and maintain compliance in holding an active Child Care Director certification
  • Manage incident reports, communicating with stakeholders as required
  • Maintain budgetary and programmatic goals, including one parent event per semester at each site
  • Provide expectations, training, and support for curriculum implementation
  • Ensure staff utilizes effective classroom and behavior management strategies
  • Ensure Texas Rising Star compliance of two stars or higher at all campuses
  • Conduct weekly classroom observations and provide feedback to staff for continuous improvement
  • Effectively communicate with parents through electronic management application, newsletters, and in person
  • Coordinate with supporting school district to ensure meals and snacks meet guidelines
  • Ensure cleanliness of facility

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Must maintain a Texas Childcare Director's Certification as required per Texas Health and Human Services minimum standards for licensed childcare
  • Continuing education as required by Texas Health & Human Services for licensing standards
  • Supervisory experience
  • Must be CPR/ First Aid certified
  • Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and show proof of insurability
  • This position requires the ability to plan, develop, organize, manage and administer tasks
  • Must be able to pass reference checks, criminal history check, sex offender registry, and FBI fingerprint background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred, applicable professional experience may be substituted for educational experience
  • At least two year's experience in a YMCA leadership role

Salary Range: $45,000/year to $53,790/year.
