Description:Day Program DirectorLead Mission-Driven Autism Services in Whitehouse & Lima, OH

Are you an experienced, compassionate leader ready to make a meaningful impact every day? Bittersweet Farms, a world-renowned leader in serving individuals with autism, is seeking a full-time Day Program Director to guide innovative day programming across our Whitehouse and Lima, OH locations. In this high-impact leadership role, you will oversee a department of up to 30 Direct Support Professionals while directly supervising Program Leaders and specialists. You will help shape a program culture rooted in dignity, respect, kindness, and individualized support, recognizing the unique qualities and needs of each person with autism and ensuring those needs are met with care and excellence.


What Weโ€™re Looking For


The ideal candidate brings a positive, energetic, โ€œcan-doโ€ attitude and a strong commitment to person-centered services.

Success in this role requires excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualified candidates will have technical competence in program development, behavior support, ISP delivery, and outcome evaluation; the ability to travel between Whitehouse, Toledo-area SEP locations, and Lima, OH; three to five years of experience working with individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities; and a bachelorโ€™s degree.


What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Oversee and lead daily operations for Whitehouse Day Programs, Lima Day Program, including both participants and all staff
  • Oversight of the Supported Employment Program (Offsite)
  • Supervises the Community Outreach Coordinator for Social Recreation Programs offered during evenings and weekends.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, program standards, and compliance expectations are consistently followed.
  • Collaborate with program coordinator on program goals, staffing, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that the services and supports entitled to each participant via their ISP are being provided consistently and, effectively
  • Remain current on rules and changes relating to Adult Day services as they apply in DODD, Medicaid, and CMS with an ongoing understanding of all applicable funding sources
  • Facilitate hands on training, support, feedback and supervision, on the floor and with their respective team
  • Must be flexible to meet programmatic and operational needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience working with individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in program leadership, staff supervision, and team development.
  • Knowledge of ISP implementation, behavior support strategies, program development, and outcome measurement.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly between Whitehouse, Lima, and Toledo-area Supported Employment Program sites.
  • Ability to provide effective training, coaching, and leadership in a dynamic service environment.
  • You MUST be able to pass a Background Check & Physical
  • You MUST have a Valid Driver License & Auto Insurance at time of hire
  • You MUST have a clean driving record within the last 5 years
  • You must be able to commit to all onboarding, mandatory orientation and training within the first 30 days of hire
