NOW HIRING: Activities CoordinatorAdult Day Program Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities & Autism Services
We are seeking a creative, organized, energetic, and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our Adult Day Program serving adults with developmental disabilities and autism.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about enhancing quality of life through engaging activities, community integration, recreational programming, education, and person-centered experiences. The Activities Coordinator will assist with daily operations while helping create a safe, structured, fun, and enriching environment for participants.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional, creative, calm under pressure, and able to multitask while supporting both participants and staff.
Position ResponsibilitiesThe Activities Coordinator will:
  • Assist the Day Program DDP with daily operations
  • Help supervise and professionally redirect staff
  • Create monthly activity calendars
  • Research and schedule at least 3 community outings weekly
  • Coordinate entertainment, educational programs, and recreational events
  • Contact community venues regarding pricing, accessibility, and group tickets
  • Locate free, discounted, or group-rate community activities
  • Develop and manage monthly activity and supply budgets
  • Plan arts, crafts, music, exercise, sensory, and educational activities
  • Coordinate holiday celebrations, birthdays, and seasonal events
  • Maintain structure, morale, and engagement within the program
  • Assist with transportation coordination and scheduling
  • Support documentation compliance and scheduling requirements
  • Provide leadership support when the Program Director is unavailable
  • Build relationships with community organizations and event coordinators
  • Coordinate transportation and outing preparation
  • Maintain activity records, attendance logs, calendars, and documentation
  • Conduct fire drills and inclement weather drills
  • Encourage participation and social interaction among participants
  • Ensure activities remain safe, inclusive, age-appropriate, and person-centered
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the facility
  • Assist with purchasing supplies while remaining within budget
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or Associate degree
  • Valid drivers license preferred
  • Basic computer skills including email, calendars, and documentation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Recreation Therapy, Human Services, Activities Therapy, Gerontology, Social Services, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience planning activities, outings, recreational events, or community programs
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, autism, seniors, or community-based programs
  • Experience coordinating transportation and group activities
