We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data toimpactimportant missions from supporting clinical decision-making to accelerating public health modernization.

As a data engineer at Booz Allen,you'llhelp build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry.You'lldeploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.

Here,you'llwork with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, clinical SMEs, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment.You'lluse your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experiencewithPySparkand SQL

  • 3+ years of experience with Azure Databricks

  • 3+ years of experience retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data

  • 3+ years of experience building scalable ETL or ELT workflows for reporting and analytics

  • Experience supporting collaborative, cross-functional technical teams

  • Ability to communicate complex analytic concepts to clinical and public health stakeholders

  • Ability to develop scripts and programs for convertingvarious typesof data into usable formats, and support the team in scaling, monitoring, and operating data platforms

  • Ability to obtain andmaintaina Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with FHIR-based data and large-scale data processing

  • Experience with R, Scala, or Java

  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Shell scripting

  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP

  • Experience with distributed data or computing tools such as Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, and Kafka

  • Experience working with real-time or streaming data systems

  • Experience with NoSQL tools such as MongoDB and Cassandra

  • Experience with data warehousing, including Redshift, MySQL, and Snowflake

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Knowledge of EHR or Health IT systems

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
