American Workforce Group has partnered with a premier, high-capacity steel fabrication leader in Cowlitz County to hire a full-time MIG Welder. Secure a dependable Monday-Friday schedule on your choice of days or swings, premium hourly pay up to $25/hr DOE, and a stable path to a permanent local career inside an advanced manufacturing space!
Description for MIG Welder:
  • Perform high-quality structural MIG welding (GMAW) on heavy steel beams, plates, and columns safely.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical welding symbols fluently.
  • Position, clamp, fit, and tack-weld large steel sub-assemblies cleanly to maintain square tolerances.
  • Audit weld configurations continuously to guarantee total penetration and eliminate porosity defects.
  • Operate commercial shop grinders, plasma cutters, and magnetic drills to prep heavy joints for welding.
  • Execute routine pre-shift logs, use overhead rigging cranes safely, and follow all facility rules.

  • Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 / hour (DOE).
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday | Day Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) OR Swing Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am).
  • Location: Cowlitz County layout.

Requirements for MIG Welder:
  • Verifiable background working as a commercial structural MIG welder or custom steel fabricator required.
  • Strictly required: This role is for experienced pros-candidates fresh out of school or green will not be considered.
  • Highly Preferred: Current or recently active WABO (Washington Association of Building Officials) Certification.
  • Demonstrated capability to read technical prints, solve layout math, and work with zero structural supervision.
  • Physical capacity to handle heavy industrial labor, lift up to 75 lbs, and work actively inside a large facility.
  • Exceptional history of daily attendance, prompt punctuality, and reliable personal transportation.
