Travel Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Profession: Nursing

Specialty: Progressive Care Unit

Duration: 7 weeks

Shift: Night

Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)

Experience: Minimum of 1 year required

License: RN Licensure required

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have: Charge experience preferred, Patient ratio experience of 4-5

Description: Unit details: Weekend shifts required every other weekend. No on-call duty. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be necessary. Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time. Failure to comply may push back start time. Job expectations: If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays occur, the traveler must work both. If three major holidays occur, the traveler is expected to work two of them. Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. Patient demographics: Adults and geriatrics are the primary patient age groups served. The daily census averages 28 patients. Number of beds assigned to the unit: 28. Interdisciplinary support includes therapy and pharmacy services. Skills required: Accessing and managing ports. BiPAP and CPAP management. Blood product administration. Cardiac telemetry experience. Central line care and management. Chest tube management. Emergency room holding experience. Feeding tube care and management. Heparin protocols. Management of high flow nasal cannula. Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Isolation precautions and PPE. Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Post-operative and post-therapy patient management including cardiac and hemodialysis. Starting and maintaining IVs. Telemetry monitoring and remote monitoring. Wound care and management.
