Job description

The Miami HEAT is seeking an IPTV Technician to work at the Kayseya Center in downtown Miami. The IPTV Technician will assist with day-to-day live event and presentation requirements, facilitating content programming and IPTV/digital signage distribution. The technician programs, schedules, and maintains the arena's vast digital signage system during HEAT games and arena live events. Candidates should possess the ability to multitask, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
This position is responsible for operating, servicing, and maintaining all technical aspects of the Kaseya Center's IPTV/digital signage systems. The IPTV Technician is the on-site IPTV/digital signage contact for all HEAT games & arena events. The technician has a strong understanding of computer networking and uses a wide array of content-managing and compositing software applications to manage, maintain, schedule, program, and implement content over a network of high-visibility LED and LCD displays. This position works directly with numerous departments and will be responsible for executing contractual commitments and marketing campaigns. This position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Broadcast Services with the day-to-day operations of the Broadcast Services department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Programs, schedules, and maintains the Kaseya Center's vast digital signage displays, including:
    • Interior Mitsubishi LED Fascia and Video Screens
    • MiamiMediaMesh (exterior marquee)
    • AT&T East Plaza
    • 601 Restaurant
    • Digital Menu Boards
    • Directional Signage
    • Bacardi Grand Entrance
    • Bacardi Bars
    • Ocho Suite Level
  2. Operates an array of content management and compositing software applications and systems:
    • TriplePlay - ITPV
    • Daktronics Show Control
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • RF Modulation System
  3. Operates IPTV/digital signage systems during HEAT games & live arena events.
    • Trains and assists with crewing part-time system operators
  4. Works well with multiple departments and collaborates with professionalism, and executes The HEAT Group's contractual commitments, event promotions, and marketing campaigns.
  5. Manages, programs, and maintains data feeds for statistic displays throughout various display systems.
  6. Maintains all aspects of the Digital Signage network systems, including installation, service, maintenance, and programming of associated software and hardware.
  7. Maintains all LED hardware/software display systems.
  8. Serves as Event technical contact for digital signage systems.
  9. Knowledge of the Sports and Entertainment world with a keen awareness of trends in technology and pop culture.
  10. Key contributor for optimization and growth of the Digital Signage systems.
  11. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or industry equivalent in Advertising, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Visual Effects/Motion Graphics, and/or minimum 2-3 years' experience with digital signage platforms such as Four Winds Interactive, ANC, Daktronics, Tripleplay preferred.
Technical/ Software Skills
  • Knowledge of Mac OS X / Mac iOS and Windows OS.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking
  • Working knowledge of PHP and HTML code development.
  • Understanding of data streaming and connectivity.
  • Familiarity with codecs and compression.
  • Strong understanding of new media visual technologies and presentation standard processes (LED, screen resolution, troubleshooting).
  • Familiar with publishing content through a content management system.
  • Must be able to operate signage system during Live Events.
