IPTV Engineer
General Description:
The IPTV Coordinator plays a critical role in delivering a world-class fan, partner, and employee experience at Toyota Center. This position is responsible for the daily operation, programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the IPTV ecosystem supporting Houston Rockets games, concerts, special events, and internal communications across the arena. Working cross-functionally with Game Presentation, Marketing, Partnerships, Broadcast, and Arena Operations, the IPTV Coordinator ensures content is accurate, timely, reliable, and aligned with the One Team experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Toyota Center IPTV system and any new video distribution system. Configure, program, and maintain IPTV endpoints across suites, concourses, clubs, offices, back-of-house, and public areas.
  • Monitor system performance during events and proactively resolve issues in real time.
Content Management amp; Programming
  • Coordinate and deploy live broadcasts, in-house programming, sponsor content, emergency messaging, and internal communications.
  • Partner with Game Presentation, Marketing, and Corporate Partnerships to ensure content accuracy, branding compliance, and sponsor fulfillment.
  • Maintain playlists, templates, and content libraries for games, concerts, and special events.
Event amp; Game Day Support
  • Provide on-site IPTV support for Houston Rockets games, concerts, and special events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Conduct pre-event testing and post-event evaluations to ensure consistent performance and identify improvements.
  • Serve as a point of contact during events for IPTV-related escalations.
Technical Support amp; Troubleshooting
  • Diagnose and resolve IPTV hardware, software, network, and signal issues.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams and external vendors to resolve system outages or upgrades.
  • Assist with firmware updates, system enhancements, and new technology rollouts.
Documentation amp; Process Improvement
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, channel maps, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, reliability, and the fan experience.
  • Support long-term IPTV strategy, expansion, and integration with other venue technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of experience working with IPTV systems, digital signage, broadcast operations, or venue technology.
  • Working knowledge of IPTV platforms, encoders/decoders, streaming protocols, and content management systems.
  • Experience supporting live events or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (LAN/WAN, multicast, VLANs).
  • Experience working with vendors and service providers.
  • Knowledge of digital signage or control room operations.
PHYSICAL amp; MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
