As one of the world's largest conservation organizations, the Arbor Day Foundation inspires people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. Through Arbor Day Farm, Lied Lodge, Tree Adventure, and our historic properties, we bring that mission to life - welcoming guests to experience conservation firsthand.
Join Arbor Day Farm as a Seasonal Orchard Hand and help create meaningful guest experiences while advancing the Foundation's mission right here in Nebraska City.
Your Support System:
You'll report to our Grounds and Orchard Manager.
You'll collaborate with leaders and team members across the property, including Grounds.
We believe in servant leadership, open communication, and growing talent from within.
How We Work:
Location: Nebraska City, Nebraska - Arbor Day Farm Campus
Schedule: Peak - Monday-Friday, 7:30AM - 4:00PM - Additional hours may be available.Season: Mid-August through late October/early November.
Our campus is guest-centered and hospitality-driven. Many roles require flexibility to support weddings, conferences, seasonal festivals, and signature events. We work hard, support each other, and believe if we're going to do something - it's worth doing well.
What You'll Do:
  • Spend your days in our orchards and grounds. You will perform a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to, mowing, pruning, weeding, spraying, trimming, and harvesting in the orchards.
  • Be a part of the apple processing. You will take pride in learning and assisting with aspects of the apple sorting, cider pressing, and bottling process.
  • Get your foot in the door at a local non-profit doing global work. You will gain valuable work experience that sets you up for other opportunities on our property.
