Job description

Alvarado Eye Surgery Center (also known as St. Vincent Eye Surgery Medical Center), is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse PreOp PostOp/ OR Circulator to join our dedicated team.

Alvarado Eye Surgery Center, located in Los Angeles, CA, is a premier outpatient facility specializing in advanced ophthalmic surgical procedures. Our center is dedicated to providing exceptional care with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. What You Will Do (Job Summary):

The PreOp PostOp / OR Circulator Registered Nurse  provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.   May float between PreOp, PACU, and OR as needed.    

Monday-Friday work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Pay Range: $45.00 - $65.00/hour depending on experience


Required Skills

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

·         Current Registered Nurse License to work in CA

·         Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

·         2+ years of experience in PACU. Operating Room (OR) experience is required.   

·         Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.

·         Excellent communication and organizational skills.

·         Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.

·         Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient

·         Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation

·         Excellent teaching skills

·         Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology

·         Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.

Current CPR, ACLS, PALS from AHA is required.

Bi-lingual in Spanish or Korean is preferred
