Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing outpatient eye surgery. Working closely with physicians and the surgical team, the RN delivers safe, high-quality preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
What You'll Do
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and provide recovery care.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the clinical team.
  • Monitor patient status and respond appropriately throughout the surgical experience.
  • Document care accurately and maintain compliance with clinical standards.
  • Educate patients and families on procedures and post-operative care.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, efficient environment.
  • Cross-train in multiple areas of the surgery center as needed.

Qualifications
  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligible to practice in Illinois)
  • Current CPR certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
  • Previous ambulatory surgery, operating room, PACU, or ophthalmology experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely assist patients and move equipment as needed.
Pay
Starting pay: $33.25-$38.31/hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
