The Senior Manager for Epic Reporting & Business Intelligence is a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for the design, development, and delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions leveraging Epic and related BI technologies. This role leads a team of data analysts and BI developers to support clinical, revenue cycle, finance, and operational domains across the health system.

The role will serve as a hands‑on subject matter expert in Epic reporting tools including Radar, Cogito Workbench, Caboodle, and SlicerDicer, while driving best practices in data modeling and SQL development. This role will also lead the design and development of SAP Business Objects and Power BI reporting development and support. This leader partners closely with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable insights that improve quality, financial performance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the organizational expert in Epic reporting tools including Radar Dashboards, Cogito Workbench, Caboodle Data Warehouse and SlicerDicer.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of Epic‑based dashboards and reports for clinical, revenue cycle, financial, and operational performance.
  • Partner with Epic application teams and IT to ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and optimal data architecture.
  • Lead the design and development of BI solutions using SAP Business Objects (WebI), Power BI dashboards and semantic models and Advanced SQL.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across Clinical data (quality, patient outcomes, population health), Revenue cycle (billing, coding, reimbursement, denial management), Finance (budgeting, cost accounting, margin analysis), and Operational data (throughput, access, capacity management).
  • Translate complex healthcare workflows into meaningful metrics, KPIs, and dashboards.
  • Present insights and executive‑level reporting to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data engineering and AI vertical leaders within the Data & Analytics organization translating business needs to scalable data centric solutions.
  • A forward‑thinking mindset to identify opportunities to improve existing analytics capabilities and adopt new technologies that enhance scalability and performance.
  • Drive adoption of data driven solutions and promote self‑service analytics culture through training, education, and support for technical and non‑technical users.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a multi‑disciplinary BI team of data analysts, BI developers, and data specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer‑focused culture that emphasizes transparency, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating organizational needs into actionable analytics strategies.
Requirements
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in Epic reporting, Epic Cogito suite of toolsets and Business Intelligence toolsets with advanced proficiency in SQL.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience within a health system or integrated healthcare delivery organization.
  • Minimum 3+ years of managerial experience leading and developing data analysts or BI teams.
  • Strong domain knowledge of Clinical workflows and quality reporting, Revenue cycle operations and KPIs, Healthcare finance analytics and Operational performance metrics within a health system.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise reporting solutions in complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Epic Radar, Cogito Workbench, Caboodle and SlicerDicer.
  • Epic Certified (relevant Cogito / Reporting certifications required).
  • Strong experience with SAP Business Objects, Power BI dashboard development and data modeling.
  • Exposure to the Snowflake data platform would be a plus.
