Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to pursue and estimate site-development projects throughout Western North Carolina. This position will focus on estimating grading, earthwork, storm drainage, sewer, water, utilities, paving, and other sitework.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of civil construction, can accurately interpret plans and bid documents, and understands how labor, materials, equipment, production, and subcontractor costs come together to develop competitive and realistic project estimates.

What You'll Do
  • Review civil plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and estimating requirements.

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, paving, and other sitework.

  • Develop accurate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Prepare competitive bids and proposals.

  • Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities during the estimating process.

  • Work closely with project managers and operations to develop realistic production estimates.

  • Maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

  • Track upcoming projects and actively pursue new work opportunities.

  • Maintain organized and accurate estimating documentation.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of civil/sitework estimating experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of grading, earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, sewer, and water installation.

  • Ability to read and understand civil construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.

  • Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools preferred.

  • Strong understanding of construction costs, labor, materials, equipment, and production.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
