The Opportunity
The Broadcom Datacom development team in Plano, Texas develops a leading Database product Datacom, has been around since the early 1970s, designed for large, mission-critical workloads on IBM mainframes; driving some of the world's largest banks, insurance companies, retailers and more. Datacom is a high-performance relational database management system for IBM z Systems. It is built for reliability and can handle massive critical workloads with 24x7 availability. It includes features like Datacom SQL and Datacom Server, which enable integration with modern applications, business intelligence, web services, and cloud environments using JDBC and ODBC connections. What You'll Do
  • Research and develop innovative new solutions that will help to shape the future direction of Broadcom.
  • Work within a scrum team in an agile development environment, with an opportunity to gain exposure to many of the key agile roles.
  • Design and code functionality for enterprise-level products that meet functional and business requirements.
  • Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers.
  • Participate in test plan reviews and develop automated test scripts to deliver high quality software solutions.

What You Need
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree.
  • Prior experience as a developer in a Scrum team.
  • Expertise in the following: IBM Assembler on z/OS, z/OS Language Environment (LE)
  • Skills with system level functions such as SVCs and PC calls.
  • Experience using Source Code Management tools such as Endevor and GitHub.
  • Open to learning new technologies and languages, following new trends, and continuous innovation.

Additional skills that will benefit your efforts (In addition to the above basic requirements)
  • Experience working with zOS systems components and sub-systems such as JCL, ISPF, CICS, CLIST, PL/1 and mainframe databases like Datacom, IDMS, DB2 etc
  • Additional experience in one or more of the following languages: Metal C, COBOL, REXX, C, C++
  • Knowledge and related product expertise in one or more of the following: Test Automation, Jenkins, Python, CI/CD Automation
  • Experience with Blackduck, Coverity, zACS tools
  • Solid knowledge of reading system dumps.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is USD 91,100.00 To USD 146,000.00

All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements.
