Job description

Job Title: IT Asset and Inventory Datacenter Specialist
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite - 5 days/week)
Job Type: Contract
Experience: 2-5 years
Job Overview
Our client is seeking experienced IT Asset and Inventory Datacenter Specialists to support laboratory operations at their Santa Clara, CA facility. This is a hands-on, onsite role responsible for the full lifecycle management of lab and datacenter assets across engineering and test environments. Immediate start - 10 openings available.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, tag, and register lab assets including oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, servers, workstations, storage systems, and DUTs
  • Perform asset inventory audits, reconciliation, and lifecycle tracking using ServiceNow (SNOW) and CMDB
  • Apply RFID/barcode labeling and maintain accurate inventory databases
  • Perform rack-and-stack activities for servers, networking equipment, and test systems
  • Configure cabling, power distribution, and connectivity requirements
  • Support workstation deployment, imaging, and setup activities
  • Schedule and track equipment calibration; maintain calibration records and certificates
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and routine health checks
  • Manage lab equipment reservation and scheduling systems; generate utilization and capacity reports
  • Monitor operational health, track performance metrics, and maintain lab dashboards
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware/software issues; coordinate vendor repairs and replacements
  • Document incidents, root causes, corrective actions, and maintain spare parts inventory
Required Skills
