Position Overview: In this position you'll become part of technically diverse team to include but not limited to Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals. Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance tasks on the networking environment.
  • Assist with peer reviews on networking maintenances, projects, and initiatives.
  • Identify, review, and recommend security postures to peers and appropriate security teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
  • Install hardware such as routers, firewalls, wireless, and switches.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Lead Network Engineer, designing and managing large enterprise distributed network environments.
  • Expertise in the following networking technologies and standards: IP Routing, Switching, QoS, Multicasting, VRF's, HSRP, 802 1x, Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), DCI (datacenter interconnect), DCI (datacenter interconnects), Overlay technologies.
  • Expert knowledge and proven experience with Cisco routing (EIGRP and OSPF)
  • Experience with network security and management tools (Cisco ISE, SolarWinds Orion, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco DNA Center, Aruba Networks, ClearPass)
  • Aruba networking experience (routing and switching)
  • Proficient with IPv6. IPv4, and Dual Stacked environments
  • Firewalls (Palo Alto)
  • Knowledge of Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP)

Security Qualifications:
  • No security clearance required; Secret Clearance Preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
