JOB PROFILE: Database Administrator
JOB LOCATION: Plano, TX
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities of Database Administrator include but are not limited to performing Microsoft SQL DBA tasks and operations of existing client databases. This role will manage the maintenance and security of the databases utilized by corporate applications. This role works closely with our Software Development teams, System Owners, and key stakeholders to ensure that database solutions are optimized for performance, backups, and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze client requirements, procedures, and problems to automate and improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities.
  • Create, implement, and maintain production QA, staging, and development databases based on the application requirements.
  • Collaborate with peers in establishing best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with architects, developers, and QA teams to ensure the proper design of logical and physical database objects.
  • Monitor development and production environments for consistent performance and provide feedback and direction on problem areas.
  • Consult with associates to determine the impact of database changes on other systems.
  • Create and maintain artifacts such as design specifications, workflows, data dictionaries, and development standards.
  • All other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience managing mission-critical, highly transactional, and distributed databases (MSSQL preferred).
  • Experience with enterprise features of MSSQL server: always on availability groups, SSRS, and Microsoft clustering
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance, replication, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience automating routine administrative tasks.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and 3 years of relevant experience.
