Want to automate Oracle database support for one of the largest workforces in the world?
Come and join the Time & Pay Innovation team within Workforce Solutions Org. We are looking for an experienced Database Engineer who is adaptable to support various Oracle databases and PostgreSQL on AuroraDB deployed in multiple environments globally. The scale and growth of the databases we support provide continued opportunities to tackle new and challenging problems.
This team supports the Oracle databases used with third party products, including Oracle PeopleSoft and UKG WorkForce Central, and PostgreSQL databases that enable Amazon to manage time and attendance and related human resource needs. You are expected to hit the ground running, and continue to learn and grow your skillset to handle complex issues that arise from such large scale Oracle database installations, that are growing at a record pace.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment
- Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security
- Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment
- Provide database administration and engineering support for Oracle databases built using AWS technologies.
- Design, build and deploy infrastructure using cloud services like EC2, CloudFormation, S3, etc to support high performance Oracle Database Systems catering to wide ranging applications, through the use of efficient code that is developed based on application requirement as well as customer feedback
- Troubleshoot database system performance and complex production software issues in a cloud environment
- Develop and document functional requirements, test plans, test cases and procedures, and test automation for Oracle database services in AWS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience mentoring or training the engineering community on complex technical issues
- Work and coordinate with multiple teams like DNS, Security, Network, etc, as well as external vendors, for the purpose of troubleshooting and also for gathering inputs while building custom solutions to complex requirements

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
