Job Description

Manage day to day health of DB2 LUW platform with 200 TB of data.

Work with software vendors and Infrastructure team to continue to improve availability, performance, DR and Data protection.

Support Operations team for Tier3 support escalations.

Design, analysis and creation of new databases (analysis about number of database partitions, available memory, database size, database & database manager configuration options).

Database object creation & alteration (tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions etc.).

Implement Database security model -Database performance tuning and troubleshooting & fixing problems faced by application developer.

Exploring the use of Multi Dimensional Clustering (MDC) & Materialized Query table to enhance the system performance if required.

Developing tools using shell/AWK scripts to automate various database administration jobs.

Performing database security review (for the databases created & maintained by other DBA).

Qualifications

6+ years of support experience with DB2 DPF in a large Enterprise Data Warehouse environment (100 + TB) preferably in v9.5 and 9.7 with performance tuning and work load management tool (WLM)experience.


2 + yrs of experience in managing DB2 tools like WLM, TSM , HPU and TSA.


Strong hands-on Unix experience 2+ yrs of experience in managing backup, recovery and DR.
