The Database Support Administrator is responsible for the architecture, administration, performance, and security of the University's enterprise database environments (primarily Oracle). This position provides advanced operational support and engineering leadership across production and non-production systems, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and data integrity. This role serves as a technical expert in database support, maintenance, optimization and security, supporting ERP and other institutional systems.

What We're Looking For:

  • Oracle Database experience such as Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or demonstrated equivalent experience required, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or demonstrated equivalent experience preferred. Skills include architecture, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and RMAN backup/recovery in a Linux environment. SQL Server and MySQL experience are a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, with strong performance tuning and query optimization skills, and analytical and root cause analysis skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and standards.

Provide Oracle database support for ERP and other enterprise systems including code promotion, application upgrades, application patching, and security patching. Assist developers and analysts with SQL performance issues and data-related troubleshooting.
