1-year 10-month contract (447 business days) - possible extension

Must have:

  1. 7–10+ years of experience in Database Administration, including design, implementation, operations, and optimization of enterprise‑scale database systems.
  2. Proven expertise administering cloud database platforms, with a strong focus on Azure PaaS and IaaS database services.
  3. Experience managing cloud data services for project delivery, including storage, repositories, virtual machines, disks, key vaults, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Data Lakehouse platforms
  4. Expertise in Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
  5. Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting, including:
  • Query optimization and indexing strategies
  • Azure SQL Query Store analysis
  • Intelligent Performance & automatic tuning features
  • Review of wait statistics and IO analysis
  • TempDB optimization
  • Understanding and mitigating Azure throttling limits

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing data pipelines from source to end user
  • Optimizing data pipelines

· Creates physical database designs and operates and administers the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery
