Overview
What You Will Do
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be an essential part of the team. You will assist Project Managers with system integration projects by coordinating submittals, manpower and staffing, resources, change orders, project tracking, and documentation.
A Typical Day at Prime Controls
  • Assists in developing project proposals by determining time frames, costs, procedures, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Works with documentation group to have all required submittal documents ready and organized.
  • Purchases parts, supplies, and technical instrumentation per specifications and system design.
  • Acts as liaison for inter-department and coordination of day-to-day operations for assigned projects.
  • Maintains project documentation and updates with change orders.
  • Participates in project review meetings with other contractors and customer representatives.
  • Reviews change orders and updates pricing to maintain profitability and budget constraints.
  • Assists with preparation of project reports for management, general contractors, customers, engineering firms, and others.
  • Maintains Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Fills in for Project Manager when needed for meetings, etc.

What You Will Bring
The Basic
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, project management, engineering, or related field.
  • 3 years full-time architecture, pre-construction, construction, or related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to apply technological solutions to planning or implementation assignments.

The Preferred
  • Experience working with industry tools and references including estimating (RS Means or similar) and scheduling tools (MS Project or similar), CAD or BIM based programs, visual communication software (Bluebeam or similar), project tracking and document control software (Procore or similar).
  • Strong understanding of programming, design, and construction principles.
  • Previous experience in industrial automation.
  • Experience with Team and customer meetings generating RFI's, Action Item List and Meeting Minutes.
  • Experience utilizing customer portals for project documentation such as Procore.
  • Controls System knowledge of Rockwell hardware and AVEVA Software.
  • Datacenter BMS and EPMS Equipment knowledge.
  • Experience working with Electrical installation contractors.
