Job description

One of the largest investment firms in the nation is looking for a hands-on Sr. Database Administrator with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and solid experience with PostgreSQL. This role combines technical leadership and execution, focusing on performance optimization, scalability, and reliability of large-scale data environments (2+billion records). This person would need to work 7 days in the Pasadena office a month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design, administration, and optimization of enterprise database systems
  • Manage large-scale datasets, ensuring high performance, availability, and scalability
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues and implement performance tuning strategies
  • Partner with engineering, DevOps, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions
  • Oversee database architecture, including indexing, partitioning, and data lifecycle management
  • Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Drive automation of database operations using scripting and tooling
