We are seeking a Database Support Specialist to provide technical support and maintenance for our desktop database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on desktop support experience with database management expertise, specifically in Microsoft Access and/or SQL environments. You'll bridge the gap between our end users and database administrators, ensuring smooth database operations and user productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level technical support for desktop and database-related issues
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Access databases, including troubleshooting and optimization
  • Write, modify, and optimize Access/SQL queries for reporting and data retrieval
  • Configure and troubleshoot ODBC connections between applications and data sources
  • Assist users with Access form design, macro creation, and data management
  • Document issues, resolutions, and create knowledge base articles
  • Perform regular database maintenance, and integrity checks
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand data requirements
  • Train end-users on database tools and best practices
  • Monitor database performance and identify optimization opportunities
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of desktop IT support experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access (form/report design, queries, macros)
  • Working knowledge of Access/SQL
