General Purpose

Collect, analyze, and present data and insights related to market trends, industry developments, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes that provide actionable insights to help guide decision-making processes, opportunity for dairy demand generation, and strategic planning. Provide support to internal groups (milk marketing, commercial divisions, communications, member service groups) through data insights, publication writing, and presentation development. Work on moderately complex assignments, lead small to mid-sized projects, and/or components of larger, more complex insights or research projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compile market intelligence from across the industry (domestic/global markets), DFA, customers, and suppliers. This includes using various sources, including primary research, secondary research, competitor data, and industry reports
  • Analyze customer, consumer, market, industry, and member data and insights to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the market; assess the impact of these trends on the organization and provide recommendations
  • Monitor and communicate real-time market activity to team members or management
  • Develop relationships with internal staff and provide insight services as needed
  • Provide research and insight support on strategic projects connected to broader division or company initiatives
  • Build and maintain models, and create reports that summarize key findings and insights
  • Develop presentations for consistent message and present approved material to various audiences, including staff, members, customers, and industry-related individuals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and finance, to align strategies with market insights; assist in the development of strategies and plans based on market intelligence
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skillset required for role; share information and participate in market discussions with other groups internally
  • Utilize market research tools, databases, and software to streamline data collection and analysis processes

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, economics, business administration, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of education and practical work experience)
